Jyotish is one of the most emerging fields of Sanskrit studies. Out of the other departments of Maharshi Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Evam Vedic Vishwavidyalaya Jyotish department has deep connections with Ujjain city. Initially the departments were started as Jyotish, but later on they were merged into a single department which was named as Jyotish department. All these courses are in accordance with the 2020 National Education Policy.
The contents of Jyotish are significant, literarily, scientifically, and historically. The department is fully committed to the revival of this ancient treasure of Astronomical and Architectural studies. The department aims to preserve the knowledge contained within Jyotish and its allied subjects. We wish to satisfy the queries of students and contribute in their overall development.
Jyotish Department of Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Evam Vedic Vishwavidyalaya was established on 27.36.2023. The department holds several graduate, postgraduate and diploma courses in Jyotish and other allied subjects. There are scholarly teachers who teach the subject in an interesting manner.
