About Department of Jyotirvigyan

Jyotirvigyan is one of the most emerging fields of Sanskrit studies. Out of the other departments of Maharshi Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Evam Vedic Vishwavidyalaya Jyotirvigyan department has deep connections with Ujjain city. Initially the departments were started as Jyotirvigyan, but later on they were merged into a single department which was named as Jyotirvigyan department. All these courses are in accordance with the 2020 National Education Policy.
The contents of Jyotirvigyan are significant, literarily, scientifically, and historically. The department is fully committed to the revival of this ancient treasure of Astronomical and Architectural studies. The department aims to preserve the knowledge contained within Jyotirvigyan and its allied subjects. We wish to satisfy the queries of students and contribute in their overall development.

Jyotirvigyan Department of Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Evam Vedic Vishwavidyalaya was established on 27.36.2023. The department holds several graduate, postgraduate and diploma courses in Jyotirvigyan and other allied subjects. There are scholarly teachers who teach the subject in an interesting manner.

Objectives

  • To establish the authenticity and scientology of Jyotish Shastra in the society.
  • To spread knowledge of Jyotish and Vastu Shastra in the society.
  • To maintain the sanctity and relevance of Jyotish Shastra in the society.
  • To make the students aware of Indian Knowledge System and explain them the practical utility of the subject.
  • Prepare students to work in the society keeping in mind the knowledge of Jyotish Shastra.
  • Make the students independent and confident about the subject. We also desire to make our students flag bearers of Jyotirvigyan and Vastu shastra.
  • Make the students skillful in both ancient and modern Jyotish Shastra.
  • Make the students efficient in both theoretical and practical fields of knowledge.
